Karma Nirvana works to end honour based abuse in the UK. It runs the national Honour Based Abuse Helpline, trains professionals, gathers data to inform policies and services, and campaigns for change.

We were initially appointed to develop a comms strategy. This involved a situational analysis and a comms review, definition of objectives which supported organisational goals, mapping and prioritisation of target audiences, identification of channels, development of key messages and formulation of recommendations for short and longer-term comms activities.

For certain areas of the charity’s work, we then developed outline comms plans, with tailored messaging and suggested media targets and comms channels to reach relevant audiences. For specific campaigns, we prepared fuller sets of recommendations on making the case for change, with step-by-step advice on developing and delivering an effective campaign, along with draft copy and tactical options.

We also worked with Karma Nirvana to develop a new website. We brought in one of our partner agencies to provide design and development, and supported the in-house team in shaping the new site to ensure it worked well for target audiences. We then wrote the majority of the copy for the site as it was being built, and populated the pages with text and images.
