We’ve just started working with Book Aid International, the UK’s leading international book donation and library development charity, on its campaign for World Book Day.
Book Aid International is one of the official supported charities for World Book Day, when thousands of children go to school dressed as a character from a favourite book. Book Aid International produces costume guides, with handy tips for busy parents, and recruits top children’s authors to help spread the word.
We will be supporting the Book Aid International team in the lead-up to World Book Day, helping to raise awareness and to encourage donations. Every year the charity sends around a million brand new books to thousands of communities around the world and World Book Day is one of its main fundraising campaigns.
Emma Taylor, Head of Communications at Book Aid International, said:
‘It’s great to have Amazon PR on board helping us to raise awareness about how schools can make us part of their World Book Day celebrations. World Book Day is a fantastic opportunity to involve UK pupils in reading while also fundraising so that people around the world can have the books they need. This year, we hope to reach out to more schools than ever before and beat last year’s fundraising total of £140,000!’
