Amazon PR is now working with Fighting With Pride – the charity which supports the health and wellbeing of LGBT+ veterans, service personnel and their families. In particular those most impacted by the ban on LGBT+ personnel serving in the Armed Forces prior to January 2000.
We will develop a communications strategy for the lived experience charity whilst also supporting with media relations and social media. The charity was founded in 2020 to remind the Government, MOD and veterans charities of their duty to uphold the Armed Forces Covenant by supporting LGBT+ veterans as they support all other veterans.
Caroline Paige, Joint Chief Executive of Fighting With Pride, said: “There’s still a way to go, to be where we should be with LGBT+ veterans receiving the appropriate reparations for when they were dismissed from the Armed Forces under the ‘gay ban’.”
Craig Jones MBE, Joint Chief Executive of Fighting With Pride, adds: “We’re excited to have Amazon on board as media relations are set to play an important role in how we progress as an organisation. Having their expertise at hand means we’re able to highlight the injustices faced by LGBT+ veterans prior to 2000 to an even greater audience.”
