Yesterday people gathered here and around the world to remember the victims of the Holocaust and to listen to the stories of those who survived.
For several months we have been working with the Holocaust Memorial Day Trust, the charity (set up by government) responsible for Holocaust Memorial Day commemorations in the UK.
Throughout the day there were over 2,500 events across the country. In London, the national ceremony was attended by hundreds of survivors and their families, joined by Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall, and David Cameron, Nick Clegg and Ed Miliband. It was televised by the BBC last night.
Media coverage has been extensive: national opinion pieces and features in the lead-up to the day, appearances on BBC discussion programmes, hundreds and hundreds of articles across the regions. Yesterday our client appeared on BBC, C4, ITV, C5 and Sky and in The Guardian, Times, Telegraph, Independent, Express, Mail, Sun online, Star and Standard in print and online, and many more. R5 broadcast live from the event venue for three hours.
The media results are very pleasing. However the thing that will stick with us is meeting the incredible survivors and the opportunity we’ve had to listen to them and be inspired by their courage.
